Advice On Your Daughters And Gardasil
posted on 06/16/2009
A few weeks ago I wrote two articles on Creationism for anybody interested in what Creationists believe compared to what evolution teaches. It was meant for people interested in learning more about Creationism and not for believers of evolution. I, of course, knew evolutionists would read my article, but I did not expect all the negative comments. I respect their right to believe what they want and I expected the same right to write an article about what I believe and those who might be interested..
Along those same lines I am writing this article for parents of girls who might want to hear what I have learned about Gardasil, not for the parents who have already vaccinated their daughters or for those who can't wait to. This is just information about a drug, its side effects, and whether or not it is a necessity in our children's lives. Of course I know prefacing this article with these first two paragraphs will probably cause people to comment even more, but again, this if for parents who might be ignorant about the truth of Gardasil or for those who might want more information before they are faced with making a decision at the doctor's office.
More that eight million American daughters have been "vaccinated" for the prevention of cervical cancer cause by the HPV (human papilloma virus). My daughter's pediatrician tried to convince me to allow him to administer the vaccine to her at her last visit. Thus, the catalyst for this article.
More than eleven thousand have suffered through the thirteen minor side effects of Gardasil and twenty six have even died as a direct result of their injection. Of the deaths, eighteen percent were due to blood clots. Other effects include headaches, gastroenteritis, Bell's palsy, appendicitis, and pelvic inflammatory disease.
In 2006, the Judicial Watch reported on ten miscarriages, several cases of Guillain-Barré syndrome, and seventy eight cases of severe genital warts. The good news though, Gardasil does protect our daughters against four types of HPV. That is good news isn't it? Well it doesn't protect against the fourteen other types. You didn't know that there were fourteen other kinds. Why would Merck lobby so hard to make Gardasil mandatory like the MMR vaccine (Measles, Mumps and Rubella), Diptheria or Tetanus? If Gardasil only protects against strains of the virus, mandatory vaccinations can only be rationalized as greed.
What The Makers of Gardasil (Merck) has to say
Gardasil is the only cervical cancer vaccine that helps protect against 4 types of human papillomavirus (HPV): 2 types that cause 70% of cervical cancer cases, and 2 more types that cause 90% of genital warts cases. Gardasil is for girls and young women ages 9 to 26.
Anyone who is allergic to the ingredients of Gardasil, including those severely allergic to yeast, should not receive the vaccine. Gardasil is not for women who are pregnant. Gardasil does not treat cervical cancer or genital warts.
Gardasil may not fully protect everyone, and does not prevent all types of cervical cancer, so it's important to continue routine cervical cancer screenings. Gardasil will not protect against diseases caused by other HPV types or against diseases not caused by HPV.
The side effects include pain, swelling, itching, bruising, and redness at the injection site, headache, fever, nausea, dizziness, vomiting, and fainting. Gardasil is given as 3 injections over 6 months. Only a doctor or health care professional can decide if Gardasil is right for you or your daughter.
This as well as some of the information contained in this article can be found at The Healthier Life website >>>> http://www.thehealthierlife.co.uk/. Here is a direct quote from their site:
"There are more than 100 subtypes of the human papilloma virus. Gardasil is effective against ONLY four strains. Does this mean we have to wait for 96 more dangerous vaccines to be developed for 'protection' against the rest of these strains? Risking more lives and more adverse effects? Feeding the money-hungry pockets of pharmaceutical giants, whilst there are other effective alternatives available such as screening and smear tests
"
Oh, and coming soon for your sons, Gardasil! As for me and my family, we have chosen to guard our daughters from Gardasil.

One other potential drawback is that, since the vaccine is new, its long term effects or ability to protect are unknown. However, there are also a lot of reasons to consider getting the vaccine--for one thing, its side effects are less severe than those of an average vaccine; the few serious side effects and even deaths reported have not been linked to the vaccine (other than by timing), and there have been extremely few of these, given the tens of millions of doses administered; 70% protection means 70% protection, no matter how many strains of the virus exist, and is even more important when you consider "herd immunity". As with any vaccine, you have to consider both the benefits and the possible side effects and complications when making a decision on whether to vaccinate yourself or your children. But this one does seem reasonably safe, even compared to other common childhood vaccines. One last thing to consider is that other childhood vaccinations are against infectious diseases that are very serious but can be treated with medication if one does get them whereas this one is against cancer, which modern medicine hasn't yet learned to effectively treat, and a very deadly one too.

This is great information. It makes no sense to give a 9 yr old a drug that treats a disorder that most often occurs because of intercourse. Good info.

By that logic it also makes no sense to give a 2-month-old a tetanus shot since he's not going to be stepping on any rusty nails that week.

Never trust anything that hasn't been on the market for a long time. Did you hear they just pulled Zicam off the shelves?

Good article Asahd2. Pharmaceutical companies will come up with anything to make money, and they don't care who they hurt.

My pediatrician just tried to insist I get it -- crazy!
