Advice On Using Ebay
posted on 07/01/2009
So you want to start selling on eBay? Great! It is a simple process to get started, and it can help you make a decent amount of cash.
To start off, you will need an eBay account. Go to eBay.com and complete the necessary requirements. This is the toughest part, by far. Authorize whatever you need to, and then proceed. I would also recommend getting a paypal account. It is basically required to conduct business on eBay, and it is completely safe. It makes payments and money handling safer and easier. You will probably have to link up your checking account or bank account to open up an account at paypal, but don't worry about this. Paypal is a very reliable and safe website.
Next, start looking around ebay, get a feel for the site. Search for some of your favorite items, and get a feel for how auctions work and what basic pages look like. Now you can start to sell! Find some items around your house that you no longer really need. You should be able to find some without too much trouble. Snap a couple of pictures of this item, upload them to your computer, and then you can get started. Click on sell at the top of the page, and follow the instructions given. I won't list out every step here, as that would take much too long. Basically, just do what eBay asks of you.
There are some small fees that eBay charges, but they are quite reasonable. They take a small percentage of the sale price, and also charge a listing price comparable to the item that you are selling. You should definitely make more money than eBay charges, so it should not be a big deal.
Keep your eyes open for items that you know are a good deal. I was kicking myself after not purchasing a guitar amplifier that sold for 1200 dollars below what it was actually worth. I could have sold it for several hundred dollars profit! I wish you luck on your eBay journey, and I hope this article was helpful.
